The
Malaysia My Second Home program (commonly abbreviated "MM2H") is an international residency scheme enacted by the Government of Malaysia to allow foreigners to live in the country on a long-stay visa of initially of up to 10 (ten) years and then Renew for life depending on the validity period of the passport. To qualify for the program, applicants must meet certain financial and medical criteria. Successful applicants are then entitled to enter and leave the country on a largely unrestricted basis, and also benefit from other incentives aimed at making their stay in Malaysia more convenient. Certain restrictions may apply.
EFFECTIVE 1ST JULY 2008 - Applicants who purchase a home / homes more then RM$1 Million and 5 years earlier will not be required to open a Fixed Deposit of RM$300K or RM$150K to obtain the MM2H Status ... Applicants are ONLY required to open a Fixed Deposit of RM$100 to RM$150K to maintain their MM2H Status for Life. When you sell any of your Malaysian Homes - There is NO CAPITAL GAIN TAXES !
Malaysian Government Support
Currently the Ministry of Tourism (MOT) is responsible for promoting MM2H, with approval of applicants and issuance of visas made directly by the Immigration Department of the Ministry of Home Affairs. A "MM2H One-Stop Centre" has been setup under the MOT and it is anticipated that all visa procedures will be transferred from the Immigration Department to the MM2H One-Stop Centre in 2008.
Eligibility
The program is open to all citizens of countries recognized by Malaysia regardless of race, religion, gender or age. Applicants are allowed to bring along their spouse and unmarried children below 21 years old & parents above 60 years old . So far over 12,000+ people worldwide have been approved for the MM2H visa (From year 2002 -2008).
MAIN APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS
Financial Requirement
Applicants below 50 years old are required to show monthly income above RM$10,000 and liquid assets above RM$500,000 from any bank worldwide. Upon MM2H approval go to Malaysia and open a fixed deposit account of RM$300,000 at any bank in Malaysia.
After a period of one year, the participant can withdraw up to RM$150,000 for approved expenses relating to house purchase, education for children in Malaysia and medical purposes. A minimum balance of RM$150,000 must be maintained from the second year onwards and throughout stay in Malaysia under this program.
Applicants 50 years old and above are required to show monthly income above RM$10,000 and liquid assets above RM$350,000 from any bank worldwide. Upon MM2H approval go to Malaysia and open a fixed deposit account of RM$150,000 at any bank in Malaysia
After a period of one year, the participant can withdraw up to RM$50,000 for approved expenses relating to house purchase, education for children in Malaysia and medical purposes. A minimum balance of RM$100,000 must be maintained from the second year onwards and throughout stay in Malaysia under this program.
Opening of Bank Fixed Deposit is after approval of MM2H and before endorsement of the MM2H Multiple Re Entry Visa into the MM2H applicant passport.
MM2H Applicants upon application are advise to show financial statements / liquid assets- cash, savings, current bank account, fixed deposit, bonds, shares, financial instruments above RM$500,000 for those below 50 years old, RM$350,000 for those above 50 years old and RM$200,000 for those above 50 years old who are applying under Government Pension scheme of RM$10,000 per month.
Also other proof of other assets, properties owned, business ownership, current employment will be very useful to ensure approval of the MM2H status. Monthly income can be payslip, company director fees, property rental income, bank & shares dividents and etc.

AFTER MM2H APPROVAL YOU NEED TO GO TO MALAYSIA FOR 3 DAYS TO GET THE MM2H LIFETIME VISA.TO GET THE MM2H VISA THESE ARE THE FINAL REQUIREMENTS:-
1) Obtain a simple Malaysian Hospital or Doctor Check Up Report - RM$120 Upwards
2) Medical Health Insurance valid in Malaysia
3) Open a Fixed Deposit in A Malaysian Bank on required amount RM$300K or RM$150K
4) MM2H Visa Fees RM$90 Per Year Per Person
5) Malaysia Journey Perform Visa for certain nationalities requiring Visa to Malaysia Fr RM$100 -$500
